Originally from Montreal, Orofino earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from York University. Her work has been supported by the Ontario and Canada Arts Councils, and she is an alumnus of the 2022 Director’s Lab at the Canadian Film Centre.

Erica wrote and directed the short film, She Keeps Me, which won Best Canadian Short at the 2022 Pendance Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Short at the 2022 Female Eye Film Festival and 2022 Oakville Film Festival. Her short film, Tampon, won Audience Choice Award at the 2020 Vancouver Short Film Festival and was the Runner Up: Best Comedic Short Film at 2019 Austin After Dark Film Festival. She was the writer/director and producer on the horror short, Fantome and she also directed the short film, Jupiter (2023), the CFC TV Pilot Teaser, Happy Undead After and produced the 2022 short, First Blood and Pocket Princess, both directed by Olivia Loccisano.

In the music video arena, she directed and produced NPR - Tiny Desk Concert for Ada Lea, One Pill - Goodnight Sunrise, Wait For It - Goodnight Sunrise, Partner - Ada Lea, Little Worse – Tilsen. Coming up soon will be her short films Hanna Has H*rpes, and Internet Friend.
